James Bergeron began his Capitol Hill service almost 25 years ago as a Legislative Assistant to former Louisiana Rep. Bob Livingston, who chaired the House Appropriations Committee. He served as Legislative Director in California Rep. Buck McKeon's personal office. While there, James developed and implemented legislative agendas within the House Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on 21st Century Competitiveness. James worked as the Director of Education and Human Services Policy for the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. James currently serves as the President and CEO of the National Council of Higher Education Resources (NCHER) to represent state, nonprofit, and private higher education finance organizations that provide a holistic approach to student success.
